Q. What is the teen course payment plan?
A. We ask that you pay half the course costs up front and the other half before behind the wheel lessons begin.

Q. How do I get my temporary permit?
A. In order to obtain a temporary permit, the applicant must be at least 15 1/2 years of age. Applicants may visit an Ohio State Highway Patrol Driver License Exam Station to obtain the Digest of Motor Vehicle Laws to study for the knowledge test. Once the applicant is ready to take the test, he or she will need to return to the Driver License Exam Station with two proofs of age and id, the most widely accepted are:

1. A certified copy of the applicant's birth certificate

2. A social security card.

If the applicant is under the age of 18, it is required that a parent or legal guardian sign for the temporary permit.

The temporary permit packet comes with the following

(Prior to December 15,2008):

1. A standardized sheet of paper with black print (this is the invalid temporary permit).

2. A temporary permit photo identification card.

3. An Ohio Motor Digest (Make sure to ask for this book)!!

The above temporary permit packet can be purchased at any License Bureau, the current cost is $22.00.

After December 15th, 2008, the temporary packet will contain:

1. A temporary permit photo identification card.

2. An Ohio Motor Digest (Make sure to ask for this book)!!

    Once the applicant passes the test the temporary permit can be purchased at the license bureau; the current cost is $22.00


Q. When will my temporary permit expire?
A. A temporary permit will expire 12 months from the date of the purchase. Once the temporary permit has expired a new packet has to be purchased. The applicant must retest in order for the new packet to be validated.


Q. When am I eligible to take my drive test for my license?
A. If under 18 the applicant must keep their temporary permit for a period of at least 6 months from the date of purchase. This is intended as a practice period. The applicant must also complete 50 hours of driving practice with their parents, with at least 10 hours of night driving.  They must also complete the entire state-required course consisting of 24 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours behind the wheel instruction.


Q. What if I lose my permit?
If any portion of the temporary permit is lost or destroyed, you are required to purchase a new temporary permit. The exam station can issue a duplicate temporary. It will expire on the date of purchase from the first temporary permit, they do not have to retest.


Q. If the weather is bad, will my lesson be cancelled?
A. Typically a lesson will not be cancelled for rain or light snow. Should the snow worsen the lesson may be cancelled at the discretion of the instructor or management. We view rain as an excellent learning opportunity for the student.
